The NAEP Research and Development (R&D) program supports the exploration and dissemination of new ideas for the improvement of NAEP through in-house research as well as studies conducted under the NAEP R&D Cooperative Agreements program.

By expanding the ecosystem of researchers and partners, the NAEP R&D program contributes to the Nation’s Report Card’s strategic vision to 1) innovate the NAEP assessment process, 2) inform a growing audience, and 3) engage to promote the use of NAEP results in a variety of ways.

Please note that while some of the work featured on this site is fully developed and available to the public, most of the work is still in the exploratory phase. We share our ideas here to enhance the creativity of the NAEP research community and invite you to find opportunities to contribute your own.
