The NAEP Doctoral Student Internship Program is entering its eighth year, and applications have just opened! Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with NAEP researchers from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and the American Institutes for Research (AIR) to analyze NAEP data; contribute to the development of statistical methods and education knowledge; and help inform education policy at the national, state, and local levels. This paid internship is remote, with some covered travel to Arlington, VA, expected. Applications will remain open through February 2, 2024.

Doctoral students in educational measurement, statistics, information science, sociology, psychology, economics, computer science, and related fields are invited to apply. Interns will collaborate on client-based projects and gain technical skills in the field of large-scale assessment while working in topic areas such as psychometrics and statistical methods, process data, policy-relevant research, and re-envisioning quantitative information (data visualization). A new topic area centered on artificial intelligence has been added to the program this year. Application instructions and additional information can be found here.
