The NAEP R&D Program stayed busy in 2022, making strides on a wide variety of fronts. As the year comes to a close, let’s look back at some of the progress and achievements made in 2022.

At NAEP Day 2022 this past Monday, October 24, the National Assessment Governing Board (NAGB) and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) presented the 2022 NAEP Mathematics and Reading results, providing the most comprehensive picture to date of the pandemic’s impact on student achievement. 

If you still have ideas for how to bring data mining and machine learning to your inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) research, there’s more time to submit!  The call for papers deadline has been extended to July 8.

The 2022 AERA and NCME annual meetings will feature presentations, trainings, and demonstrations relevant to NAEP R&D efforts.

Modules on how to use the EdSurvey R package to analyze various NCES data have been added to NCES’s Distance Learning Dataset Training (DLDT) system. The DLDT is an interactive web tool that allows data users to learn about NCES data products and to appraise their usefulness for various purposes.
