As we look back on the recently ended 2023 NAEP Doctoral Internship Program, one more intern from this most recent cohort has worked with us to share her experience with the program and a bit about herself. Radhika Kapoor had an exciting summer working with NAEP data and tools with the experts, and now she’s reflected on and answered a few questions for the NAEP research community. 

In June 2023, NAEP Validity Studies (NVS) panelist Dr. Gerunda B. Hughes of Howard University published a white paper exploring the history and equity issues of NAEP and making recommendations for improving “equitable measurement and reporting in NAEP.”

As the summer and the NAEP Doctoral Student Internship begin to wind down, another intern took the time to share some insights and reflections with the NAEP research community about themselves and their work! Danielle Siegel has been spending her summer engaging in methodological developments and conducting secondary analysis using NAEP data, but she found the time to answer a few questions.

On June 21–23, the NAEP Research and Development Program hosted its first NAEP High School Transcript Study (HSTS) Data Training Workshop at the headquarters of the American Institutes for Research (AIR) in Arlington, VA. In this post, we will share some highlights from the three eventful days of data training using large-scale assessment data from the HSTS.

A new cohort of summer interns has joined the NAEP R&D program! These interns are hard at work engaging in methodological developments and conducting secondary analysis using NAEP data. A couple of our new interns, Jazzmine Waugh and Talal Khan, have taken a moment to answer some questions and introduce themselves to the NAEP R&D community.
